Nico Brodersen is a Berlin-Mitte based artist who studied Fine Arts at Hochschule für Bildende Künste (HfBK), Hamburg and finished as Meisterschülerin at Universität der Künste (UdK), Berlin.
Nico Brodersen is known for her sensitive lines in fine drawings and lithography - up to now.
Since staying in Sicily, floating shapes and lights - huge watercolors (up to 1.50x3.00) - started to emerge, seemingly inspired by the markets (La schiuma del carciofo) and the open skies and wide space - reminiscent of imagery from the hubble telescope. She circles the question "what is it like to perceive colors - why is it like anything at all?" which leads to the essentials: what does it mean to be conscious? What can we know and how do we tell anybody what WE see when we are talking b-minor?
We are. Free.
